Title VP, Risk Management

Reports To SVP, Risk Management

The Job

We're looking for a Vice President of Risk Management who will help support the day-to-day operations of trading and hedging. They will be responsible for efficient execution of operations, tracking of risk exposures and structuring and executing hedge strategies covering digital currencies.

Responsibilities

  • Experience with analyzing the financial risks of digital currencies and power portfolios.
  • Analyze portfolio positions and quantify potential budget variances and other standard risk metrics.
  • Structure prudent risk reduction measures through hedging strategies and derivative products.
  • Execute hedging recommendations and commodity derivative transactions.
  • Assist the SVP in the development and implementation of risk management policies and systems.
  • Provide support to Accounting and FP&A on derivatives/settlement accounting.
  • Structure digital asset processes and policies.
  • Monitor markets to execute regular trading of digital assets.
  • Leverage problem-solving and analytical skills to enhance and automate risk processes.
  • Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team and with co-workers/ teammates and leaders across the organization.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or economics or other related field required; Master's preferred.
  • 8 years of progressively responsible experience in risk management and front/middle (trading, marketing, trading controls) office roles.
  • Experience working in a structuring/trading or treasury financial risk management role.
  • Exceptional people management skills and proven ability to build a collaborative team culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and drive a team's strategic direction.
  • Strong technical knowledge of market risk methodologies and techniques.
  • Knowledge of energy markets, including electricity, natural gas, and renewables.
  • Experience in digital asset market.
  • Experience evaluating, summarizing, and communicating complex transactions.
  • Ability to prioritize duties, multi-task, and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with various stakeholders, including executive management levels.
  • Work Environment

    This job operates in a remote office environment. This position frequently uses computers, tablets and smartphones.

    Physical Demands

    This position frequently sits and or stands for most of the day.

    Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position. Hours are generally Monday – Friday 8a-5p. However, evening and weekends may be required.

    Travel

    Minimal travel may be required.
